Hello, I'm new in town, but not new to teaching violin. I moved to Fort Collins to be closer to my grandchildren. I was affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada for 25 years, where I taught with their Suzuki Plus program. What does that mean? It means that we did the Suzuki program, private lessons, group lessons, ear training, parental involvement, plus the core requirements for the conservatiory graded exam program. That involves sight reading, theory, scales and technical studies. So I am used to giving my students a well-rounded program. For the last six years, I have been teaching in Ames, Iowa where I also continued my study of the requirements for registration with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. I am now registered with them from violin book 1 through book 10. My preference in teaching is the Suzuki Plus program where a wide range of skills is fostered. I'm also available to work with students from school orchestra programs who want to further their skills in a private lesson setting. |
